Employees of Oconee County which is located in South Carolina will be tested for anabolic steroids. The County Administrator Scott Moulder said about possible the Oconee County Council’s changes in the list of narcotic drugs. There is a probability that anabolic steroids will be added to this list.
Since steroids began to be widely taken by police officers in many states, Wayne McCall, the chairman of the public safety committee, announced about an essential decision. He said that steroid testing should be performed in Oconee County. The chairman explained why it was decided to test employees for the forbidden products. According to the chairman, anabolic steroids have negative influence on people. They turn normal persons to mad ones. The chairman compared individuals who use anabolic steroids with “Magilla Gorilla” that may become aggressive and kill others. So, Wayne McCall thinks that consumers of anabolic steroids are extremely dangerous people for society. He believes that intake of these prohibited substances is an enhancing problem in almost all states. Even law enforcement officers and firefighters use these illegal drugs which lead to psychological disorders and violent behavior.
McCall noted that several officers and firefighters were similar to Magilla Gorilla, the character of the 1960 animated series “The Magilla Gorilla”. The chairman noticed that such officers might affect own health and life or even murder other people.
It was the first time when consumers of anabolic steroids were compared with the cartoon character Magilla Gorilla. Some individuals say that the comparison is ironical.
However it is claimed that steroid testing will benefit, it is important to remember that it will cost too much money from taxpayers funds.
