Alistar Overeem never asked whether medications that were prescribed by his doctor contained prohibited ingredients

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension which was received by him for intake of anabolic steroids on April 24, 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. Alistar Overeem forfeited his license for 9 months. Then he may obtain it again.
Alistar Overeem admitted that he had utilized injectable testosterone which was recommended him by his doctor. Overeem used the strategy that was claimed to be boring. He noted that he had never taken anabolic steroids or other related drugs knowingly. He tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable application of steroids was accidental.
The defense attorney for Alistar Overeem was David Chesnoff who has been experienced in representing celebrated athletes.
David Chesnoff called the personal doctor of his client to testify during the appeal. It was suggested that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for his patient. Testimonies of this doctor were too pitiable. The physician Molina provided an explanation for recommendations of several medicines which resulted in Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating physician of Alistar Overeem admitted that he recommended and injected this fighter with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he suffered from an injury. Actually, these medications are used for anti-inflammatory purposes. But intake of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is suggested that the physician Molina hasn’t warned this athlete that these remedies contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of the doctor Molina turned out to manifest lack of the evidence linked with therapeutic needs for administration of forbidden medicines by Alistar Overeem. The physician couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation which could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to his patient. Testimonies of the health care provider Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it became evident that Overeem was a victim of the physician’s quack.
But it is possible to suppose that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this athlete.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even referred to him as to a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to believe that Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the physician Moline. They advised him to look for more qualified professionals in the future.
